About David Vick

David has been a performer, a writer, an artist, a reporter, and actor and director, along with many different roles.

Currently, he teaches and trains in the Afro-Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira under Contra Mestra Anne Pollack, founder of Capoeira Mandinga Tucson.  For 11 years, David has brought the experience of Capoeira to the Tucson community through shows, classes, lectures, and has served as a guest instructor at capoeira events nationwide.   He also specializes in teaching Maculele, Puxada de Rede, and Latin dance classes, with experience in salsa, samba, tap, theatre dance, dance improvisation, ballroom, and square dance.

A consummate performer, David also keeps in touch with his roots in theatre, serving as a guest instructor of Stage Combat for events such as the International Thespian Festival in Phoenix, AZ, and for theatre classes in local Tucson high schools, and choreographer for local Tucson theatre companies such as Something Something Theatre's production of "By the Bog of Cats"

Experiencing moderate-severe hearing loss later in life, David has never let that keep him from doing what he loves and sharing the positive energy that he has with anyone and everyone he meets.  Whether it's motivating you to get fit, open yourself up, or be a more skilled performer, he is always here to help when he can.
